Tom Greene, MFA, PhD, is the author of assorted hard SF stories published in Strange Horizons, Interzone, Analog Science Fiction and Fact, and elsewhere. He is a professor of English at Northern Essex Community College with specializations in writing (creative, expository, and technical), Victorian literature, folklore, cultural studies, and genre fiction. He grew up in south Texas, is biracial Latino/Anglo, and was supposed to be a biologist—before taking a left turn into language arts. When not teaching or writing, he gives talks on vampire literature and the semiotics of breakfast cereals. He lives in a nineteenth-century house in Salem, Massachusetts, with his wife and at least two cats.
