Benjamin C. Kinney is a neuroscientist, SFF writer, and a 2018 Hugo Award finalist as the Assistant Editor of the science fiction podcast Escape Pod.

His short stories include "The First Confirmed Case of Non-Corporeal Recursion: Patient Anita R." in Strange Horizons, "Where the Anchor Lies" in Beneath Ceaseless Skies, "The Hammer's Prayer" in Diabolical Plots, and a dozen more. He's researched and taught in the fields of cognitive, motor, and rehabilitation neuroscience for over ten years, and his popular science essays have appeared in Clarkesworld, File 770,, and Putting the Science in Fiction (Reader's Digest Press, 2018).
