John P. Murphy is a Nebula-nominated author and expert in machine learning and network security, whose work includes the SF novel Red Noise (Angry Robot, 2020) and the fantasy novella The Liar (The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction, 2016; Nebula Award finalist). His short fiction has appeared in a number of venues including The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction, Nature Futures, and The Drabblecast Audio Fiction Podcast, and has been selected for several Year's Best anthologies.
John attended the Viable Paradise science fiction and fantasy writers' workshop in 2010. He has a PhD in engineering for his work in multi-robot coordination and control.
